How to romanticize your life and start feeling like the main character during this Fall season.
Happy Monday, everyone. I’m not sure if I ever shared this but I love Mondays. I love a fresh start to the week, new tasks, and a new blog post! Today, I am talking about how to romanticize your life and start feeling like the main character in your life during this Fall season.
What Does Romanticizing Your Life Mean?
Romanticizing your life means to fully live within the moment. It means to appreciate the little things, your daily tasks, and your life as a whole. This started as a TikTok trend by @ashlaward with audio of her saying:
“You have to start romanticizing your life, you have to start thinking of yourself as the main character, ‘cause if you don’t, life will continue to pass you by, and all the little things that make it so beautiful will continue to go unnoticed, so take a second and look around and realize it’s a blessing to be here right now.”
To me, this means we should start seeing our lives as a movie and we are the main character in it. We should appreciate that cup of coffee in the morning, that sun that peeks through the window every night at sunset, and the laughs we share with loved ones.
We should not only appreciate these moments after, but we should feel them at the moment. Being present is an actual present and we should take note of that.
Here are 10 ways you can start romanticizing your life and feel like the main character starting today.
How to Romanticize Your Life
1. Watch A Fall Themed Show
Watching a fall-themed show will help you get some inspiration on how to be the main character of your life. I personally love watching the Vampire Diaries during the Fall time because of the setting and talk about vampires. Here is a list of other shows that will get you in the Fall mood!
• The Vampire Diaries (Netflix)
• Riverdale (Netflix)
• Gilmore Girls (Netflix)
• Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Netflix)
2. Make A Pumpkin Flavored Dessert
Make a pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, or any Fall dessert. Baking can be very therapeutic and calming, plus you get to eat a tasty treat at the end!
3. Decorate Your Space For Fall or Halloween
Decorating your space for Fall or Halloween will instantly get you in the mood for Fall. Add pumpkins to your front porch, buy some fall-scented candles or decorate your space spooky for Halloween!
4. Read A Romance Novel
Grab a cozy blanket, a cup of tea, and your favorite romance novel – the perfect recipe for Fall. Everyone is currently obsessed with this book on TikTok, so it’s definitely going on my to-read list!
5. Visit A Pumpkin Patch or Cornfield
Visiting a pumpkin patch or cornfield is not only a cute date idea, but it’s also great for an Instagram photo! Plus, you can get some pumpkins to carve or decorate your space with.
6. Wear Cute Outfits
Main characters in movies always have cute outfits, as if they didn’t spend hours planning them. This Fall, try putting some extra effort into your outfits and see how your confidence changes!
7. Listen To A Fall Playlist
While working, cooking, or cleaning up the house, play a jazz or Fall playlist. Music always sets the tone for the occasion. Also, did you know YouTube has a bunch of Fall ambience videos? They really do make you feel like the main character!
8. Have A Morning Routine
If you really want to know how to romanticize your life, then you should make a morning routine. A morning routine sets the tone for the rest of the day, so having a good solid routine can change your life. Remember to set some time for yourself, like journaling, reading, or drinking a cup of coffee or tea.
9. Buy Yourself Flowers
No significant other, no problem. Buy yourself some flowers every week and make a small bouquet out of them. Fresh flowers are a small joy in life that we should all buy more often.
10. Appreciate Your Daily Life
At the end of the day, we should appreciate our lives the way they are right now. I personally love making my morning cup of coffee, my daily reading or watching time and going on little dates with my boyfriend.
Your life may not feel like a movie and you may not feel like the main character at times, but just remember life is meant to be lived to your fulfillment. Erase the noise that’s telling you how you should be living, and start living on your own terms.
