CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2 Review | My Results + Discount Code

I tried the new CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2, and here’s how the best LED mask on the market just got even better. Today we are discussing the new upgraded CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2, a comparison between the Series 1 and 2 masks, my experience with before and after pictures, plus an exclusive discount code.

Last year, CurrentBody let me try their LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series 1, and I was obsessed with the results. You can read my full review of the Series 1 Mask here. When they reached out again this year to let me know they made an upgraded one, my first thought was, “How can it possibly get any better?” But it sure did! They took feedback from over 500,000 users, two years of product development, and after 5 years made the most famous beauty device on the market even better.

The Series 2 Mask has been upgraded with 236 LED bulbs for better light coverage and a new Deep Near-Infrared (1072nm) wavelength for even better skin results. It features a Veritace® NFC card for tracking results, a flexible silicone shape with full lip, nose, and chin coverage, plus a multiway strap for added comfort.

Let’s review my skin concerns before we get into these amazing new upgrades. My main skin concerns are my dark under-eye circles, skin texture, and redness on my cheeks. Red light therapy is perfect for these concerns because LED has been proven to increase collagen production, reduce fine lines & wrinkles, even out skin tone, and reduce redness. Now, let’s take a look at the exciting upgrades of the CurrentBody LED Mask Series 2.

New Features of the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2

1. Added Deep Near-Infrared (1072nm) LED Wavelength

The Series 2 Mask got some serious upgrades, one of them being an added precise wavelength called Deep Near-Infrared. The Series 1 Mask has Red Light (633nm) and Near-Infrared Light (830nm) but the Series 2 Mask has all three wavelengths. These wavelengths are the most effective for anti-aging and skin rejuvenation but here is a better look into how each wavelength is beneficial:

Red Light (633nm):

  • reduces fine lines & redness
  • improves skin texture

Near-Infrared Light (830nm):

  • deep collagen renewal
  • brighter, bouncier skin

(NEW) Deep Near-Infrared Light (1072nm):

  • targets deep wrinkles
  • visible skin renewal

CurrentBody added 16 Deep Near-Infrared bulbs to the under eyes and mouth area because this is where aging is most pronounced. It’s highly effective for skin renewal, as it reaches up to 10mn into the skin. They also upgraded from 132 LED bulbs to 236 LED bulbs, offering maximum coverage of the skin for the best results and you can see these results for yourself with Veritace®.

2. Veritace®

I’ve seen a lot of talk about whether LED masks actually work, but CurrentBody believes in transparency, safety, and results so their new mask comes with the Veritace® Mark which guarantees that the technology in your mask is one of the best, safest, and most reliable on the market.

Veritace® is proof that it’s been carefully tested and tracked throughout every stage of production, and the proof is included with every LED mask. Every Veritace® device features an NFC card where you can simply tap the card included inside the box to see every stage of quality testing your mask has undergone – providing solid proof that your mask delivers results (see images above).

3. Best-Fit Liquid Silicone Shape

Another big upgrade to the Series 2 Mask is the fit of the silicone mask. The original Series 1 Mask is flat but the Series 2 Mask is curved making it ideal for every face shape because it contours to the face and chin, offering maximum coverage for the best anti-aging results. This is something I loved about the new mask because the whole mask can now directly lay on every part of the face, including the chin, forehead, and sides of the face.

4. Additional Chin Strap

Speaking of full coverage, the Series 2 Mask now features an additional chin strap. This addition is to provide full-face coverage of all the LED lights, including under the chin. Since LED lights produce collagen, adding the chin strap helps with firming and tightening underneath the chin area.

5. Multiway Strap

It now comes with a multiway strap for convenience and comfort. The Series 1 Mask only comes with one strap but this one comes with a large velcro strap to secure around the back of the head and also a strap for the top of the head for extra security. I love this upgraded strap because I have a small head so masks usually just slide down my face but with the extra top strap, the mask stays secured so I can freely move around during the treatment.

6. Built-In Controller with Clip

If you love double-tasking while wearing an LED mask, then you’ll love their improved controller design. It’s now built-in to the mask instead of detachable and comes with a clip to attach to clothes. The clip is great if you like doing chores when wearing the mask because you can easily clip it onto your joggers, leggings, or shorts.

7. Eye Inserts

If you’re sensitive to bright lights but don’t want to fully cover your eyes with goggles, the mask now includes optional eye inserts for added comfort. They’re detachable inserts that help with reducing the brightness of the LED lights so you can comfortably read a book, watch TV, or scroll on your phone during the treatment.

My Review

The first thing you notice when opening the box is an envelope with your unique NFC card to see the journey of your Veritace® device. You simply tap your phone onto the card and you can view each stage of quality testing that your mask has passed. I tapped the card and saw that my mask had passed every test. I love that CurrentBody prioritizes quality and safety because LED masks sound a little scary to be doing at home on your own but they make it so you can feel safe.

Next, I put on the multiway strap, which is my favorite new upgrade. I have a small head, so masks often slide down my face, but the added top strap keeps it secure and in place.

The mask feels comfortable, lays directly on every part of the face, and is lightweight. The chin strap doesn’t directly touch my chin but I understand the mask is designed to fit everyone. This doesn’t bother me because the LED lights will still penetrate the skin even if it’s not directly touching.

Another thing to note is that the lip opening is smaller than the original Series 1 Mask, but this is to provide full lip coverage, as signs of aging are more pronounced around the mouth. It fits a little snug but I’m happy to improve my smile lines!

The treatment is only 10 minutes so I always just scroll on my phone or clean up when wearing the mask. They added a clip to the controller of the mask so I clipped it onto my clothes when moving around during the treatment. I think you’ll love the clip if you like to move around, especially when you’re wearing bottoms without pockets, like leggings.

The LED mask automatically turns off after the 10-minute treatment. The treatment is painless and there is no discomfort during or after. Before testing this mask, I didn’t use an LED mask for four weeks so I can see what this mask can do. I continued to try the mask for two weeks and these are my results.

My Before and After Results

After just one treatment, I immediately noticed a difference in the texture of my skin. Just like the Series 1 Mask, your skin feels soft and smooth after using it just once. With the new Series 2 Mask, my skin feels even softer. I didn’t know that was even possible! I believe the added LED lights make the difference, as they still use the same powerful wavelengths as the Series 1 Mask but provide more coverage across your face—you can definitely feel the improvement!

My skin looks glowy and refreshed just after two weeks of using it. I’ll continue to see results with more use, but even in such a short amount of time I already noticed an improvement in my skin’s texture, redness, and skin tone.

Red light therapy has become my favorite part of my skincare routine because I love instant and long-term results. It’s also the perfect addition to your skincare routine because it’s a one-time investment for unlimited red light therapy treatments from the comfort of your own home.

The mask retails for $469 but with my exclusive discount code, you can get it for $422.10!

Final Thoughts

Overall, the CurrentBody LED Light Therapy Face Mask Series 2 is a major upgrade from the Series 1 Mask. The extra LED lights and Deep Infrared wavelength really take the mask to a whole new level. If you’re thinking of getting an LED mask, I would get the Series 2 Mask because it covers more of the face, doesn’t slide down, has more LED lights, and targets the under-eyes and mouth area with the added wavelength. If you have the original CurrentBody LED mask and you want the added LED lights and Deep Infrared wavelength, then I think it’s worth the upgrade. At the end of the day, both LED masks are incredible and I’ve had great results with both.

    2. Great article a d your code worked well for me. In fact it gave me 20% off – I don’t know if it’s because I’m in Canada and the taxes and shipping brought the total back to having 10% off, but I was thrilled. Thank you!

  1. Good morning, I bought the mask recently and have noticed a dry patch has formed under my nose and down onto my lips. I use it 4 or 5 times per week. Can you please let me know if you have had any other reports of this, and advise on what I should do? Many thanks. Siobhán

    1. Hi, Siobhán!

I’m so sorry this happened! Here are a few suggestions that might help:

      1. Try cutting back to 2-3 times per week to see if it improves.
      2. Apply a hydrating moisturizer after each session to counteract any dryness.
      3. If you’re using any new serums or products alongside the mask, it’s worth doing a patch test to rule out any other causes.

If the dryness persists, I recommend reaching out to the brand’s customer care team, as they’ll be able to provide more tailored advice.

Let me know how it goes! 😊
