5 of my go-to morning drinks that I cannot live without. My favorite cold brew, Starbucks iced coffee at home, and ginger shots recipe.
I love switching up my morning drinks every now and then. Right now I am loving matcha lattes but with the weather warming up, I’m starting to crave cold brew. Today I am sharing all my favorite morning drinks that are delicious and easy to make. I included all the products I use and love at the bottom of this post. I hope you enjoy and if you make any of the recipes make sure to snap a picture and tag me on Instagram @imerikamarie!
My Favorite Morning Drinks
1. Whipped Coffee
Whipped coffee is easily my favorite drink out of the five, but it’s also the sweetest. I love making these on a Friday because they feel like a little reward for getting through the week. I know white sugar is used in the original recipe, but I feel like brown sugar froths and tastes better!
Directions:
1. Add instant coffee, brown sugar, and hot water to a cup and froth until it resembles peanut butter.
2. Add ice cubes, pour in milk and creamer of your choice and enjoy!
2. Cold Brew w/ Cold Foam
This is my go-to Summer morning drink. The main difference between cold brew and coffee is that the coffee grounds for cold brew are steeped in water for 12-24 hours. This makes cold brew less bitter, stronger and has low acidity. My two favorite cold brews are La Colombe Cold Brew (Medium/Dark) and Stok Cold Brew (Bold & Smooth). Both are unsweetened so I do add oat milk (amazing for frothing) and sometimes vanilla syrup for extra flavor!
3. Matcha Latte
On the rare occasion when I don’t want coffee, I love a good matcha latte. It’s definitely an acquired taste but sweetener does help (lol). I buy this matcha powder from Amazon because it’s a really good affordable option.
Directions:
1. Add matcha powder, honey, vanilla syrup (optional), and a splash of water (enough to cover the matcha).
2. Froth with a frother. Add milk of choice, ice, and enjoy!
4. Starbucks Iced Coffee w/ Vanilla Syrup
Once I found the Starbucks vanilla syrup at Marshall’s there was no turning back. It’s absolutely amazing paired with the Starbucks Medium Roast Iced Coffee! Makes sense because it’s the same brand (lol). This combination tastes just like the one from Starbucks, so if you love their iced coffee then you should definitely try this!
Tip: Save your Starbucks cup to use as a guide on how to make their iced coffee drink.
5. Ginger Shots
This is something new that I have recently added to my daily routine. Ginger shots can help with digestion, bloating, nausea, and gut health. Ginger is spicy but I honestly love it for bloating and stomachaches. Making my own ginger shots at home is way cheaper than buying them at the market. I am currently looking for mini glass jars to store them in, but I am leaning toward these jars. I personally drink 1-2oz per day.
Directions:
1. Peel, wash and cut up the ginger root. I use about a medium-sized root.
2. Juice 2 medium-sized lemons.
3. Add ginger, lemon juice, and water to a blender and blend until smooth.
4. Strain the juice with a strainer and store it in a mason jar.
