Hi, everyone! Today I want to talk about how to be “that girl” but in a realistic way. It looks like this TikTok trend is not going away anytime soon so let’s talk about it. I made a post about becoming that girl, but I wanted to dive deeper into how you can create your own routine that is sustainable and fulfilling to you.

Following trends are fun but when I look that these routines, I think I would absolutely hate them lol. Therefore, I want to encourage you all (and myself) to create habits and routines that are personal to you. Let’s start with the most important step.

How to Create a “That Girl” Routine

Create a Morning Ritual

The best way to start your day as that girl is to create a morning ritual thatโ€™s special to you. That doesnโ€™t mean buying that five-minute journal everyone on TikTok has or doing yoga every single morning. It can mean not looking at your phone after you wake up, not snoozing your alarm five times, or not skipping breakfast. Create a morning ritual you love and enjoy, not the ones you see on social media. I wrote a whole post about how to set up your own morning routine here.

Exercise Routine That You Love

If you hate working out, then you probably just hate the workout you tried or are currently doing. I used to love weight training and then one day didn’t enjoy it anymore. Instead, I do 12/3/30 2-3 times a week. 12/3/30 is a treadmill workout that is 12 incline, 3 speed for 30 minutes. Itโ€™s important to find something you love because why would you spend time on something you hate when itโ€™s supposed to be rewarding? You can try yoga, pilates, weight lifting, treadmill, etc. Here are some fun at-home workouts I actually enjoy doing.

Food Is For The Body And Soul

I love a good salad with some green goddess dressing but I also love Hot Cheetos! I *sadly* canโ€™t eat them every day but once in a while is totally fine. Eating healthy doesnโ€™t have to be boring or bland, so I suggest trying new recipes or experimenting with your cooking until you find something that is nutritious and delicious. I read How Not to Die by Michael Greger a few years ago and it changed my whole perspective on food. He basically says that every meal or snack should be intentional, nutritious, and fuel for your body. I highly recommend reading it.

Fill Your Thoughts With Knowledge & Positivity

That girl is constantly learning and expanding her mind. She is intentional about what kind of content she is consuming and listening to. Some of my favorite podcasts include The Skinny Confidential, What We Said, and Pretty Basic. Theyโ€™re all a mix of lifestyle, wellness, and positivity. She probably also likes true crime podcasts but who doesnโ€™t! Every day take some time to read an article on a topic you donโ€™t know about, read a chapter from a book, or watch a documentary on a topic youโ€™re interested in.

Better Sleep For A Better Day

A โ€œthat girlโ€™sโ€ day starts the night before. For a better night’s sleep, try working out during the day, eat a healthy meal and snack before bed, or dim the lights in your room. I personally put my phone on night shift mode so the light on my phone isnโ€™t so harsh. Some habits to include in your nighttime routine are to read a book, listen to or watch something calming, take a warm bath, or drink sleepy tea. The moral of the story, if you want to be โ€œthat girlโ€ in 2022 then youโ€™re going to have to step out of your comfort zone. Try a meal youโ€™ve never tried, a workout that looks ridiculous but is fun to do, or watch a documentary instead of TikTok for two hours. It sucks stepping out of your routine that brings you comfort but if you clicked on this article, then I assume youโ€™re ready for a change.   2. I am from India and glad to read it coz it is realistic. I read almost ten to fifteen article on the same topic coz I also want to be that girl. But I got confused that what should I do.
