How to Keep Up With Your Goals During Quarantine

Back in January, I shared my vision board and goals for 2020. Well, being locked up in my house for four months definitely wasn’t on there. No one expected this to happen, especially since everyone thought “this is the year”. 2020 can still be your year but from the safety and comfort of your home.

The past few months have felt like the movies “Groundhog Day” and “Palm Springs”. Has anyone seen Palm Springs on Hulu? Omg, so good! Anyways, it’s where the characters experience the same day over and over again.

Scientists even say it feels like time is going by faster because we are not doing anything memorable. Since we’re doing the same thing every day, “the new normal”, then we don’t need to remember each specific day.

Now it’s July, my vision board is outdated and irrelevant to today’s normal but I still want to accomplish everything I set out to do.

I know it’s hard to think about yourself and your goals during these unprecedented times but we owe it to ourselves to at least try. Here’s how to keep up with your goals during the quarantine.

1. Rewrite Your Goals.

No, not completely throw them in the trash. A little revision and revamp is all. For example, if your goal was to travel outside the country this year, try switching it to traveling outside your city. A new place, a new park, a new safe place to travel to – while wearing a mask!

2. You Are Still A Priority.

You are your number one priority and if these goals are special to you then you should do it! Start that blog you wanted to or start your health journey. When you are rewriting your goals make sure to include what you really want for yourself.

3. Make Time.

Sounds simple, but like a said time feels like it’s going by so fast lately! I almost forget that I want to reach my goals by the end of this year. Since quarantine started, it’s felt like there is no deadline or no end day. Try to break your routine and make time for your goals. Trust me, when 2021 comes around you’ll be glad you did!

4. Stay Organized.

I saw a meme on Twitter that said buying a planner for 2020 was a complete waste. Well, I still have big plans and I intend to accomplish them. Keep your goals in reach, in sight, and organized. I wrote how I’m manifesting everything I want this year with my vision board. Read more about it here! Try keeping a weekly planning pad with you or a monthly calendar you can see every day.

5. Self-discipline with a Sprinkle of Motivation.

I’ve already talked about how I stay consistent with my workouts, and that’s with self-discipline. I changed my way of thinking from “I have to work out” to “I want to work out because it makes me feel good”.

That little change helped me get the ball rolling and keep it rolling. Same thing when it comes to goals. Once you start, and you really want it, you can’t stop! Motivation is momentary for me, but I do love quotes that give me a spark once in a while! Read about how I stay motivated here.

I know some days are harder than others. I know it feels selfish to be focusing on yourself during a pandemic. I know it’s hard to get up and be productive. It’s okay to have off days, but doing small tasks every day can lead to big results. Good luck, everyone!
