My current favorites including a book I couldn’t put down, a new addicting show, a tea I absolutely love, and more.
Happy Monday, everyone! I can’t believe it’s almost the last month of the year. I swear this year went by so fast! November was a slow month of trying new things but I did find some gems. I watched the Hulu show Tell Me Lies, I read Good Girl Complex by Elle Kennedy and I tried and loved a new tea.
Current Favorites – November 2022
1. Good Girl Complex by Elle Kennedy
If you love drama, romance, and a little bit of *spice* then you need to read this book. Do not let the cover art confuse you, as it did me, this book is filled with drama and spice!
It’s a story about a good rich girl, Mackenzie, who meets a bad boy local named Cooper Hartley. Mac feels free and bold when she’s around Cooper. Cooper thought he would never fall for a rich girl “clone”, but Mac keeps him grounded. They both finally feel like their life is going well until Mac finds out Cooper was keeping a secret from her the whole time.
Yes, this is the whole good girl meets bad boy trope along with the rich girl meets local guy trope, but mature and not cringy. I honestly loved the drama, the characters were funny, and it was spicy. FYI, this is no cute romance book. Cooper is no “book boyfriend”! But if you like a quick drama with some spice, then I recommend it.
my rating: 8/10
2. Coconut Tumeric Black Tea
I love trying new teas out. During the colder months, I love hot tea. When I need a midday pick-me-up, I brew a cup of this coconut turmeric black tea. It has the perfect balance of black tea, turmeric, and cinnamon with just the right amount of coconut-vanilla undertones. This organic, all-natural tea is designed to mitigate inflammation and defend your body from the inside out. Perfect for Flu season! You can use my code ErikaMarie for 10% off your order.
3. Kitsch Wet/Dry Brush
Did I buy this brush because of the cute packaging? Yes, but it’s also a really good detangling brush! If you haven’t tried a wet and dry brush you’re missing out. It glides through my hair in seconds without pulling out too many hairs. Before trying a wet brush, it took me forever to brush out my long hair and it would hurt. This brush has thin flexible bristles that make it easy to smooth out knots.
4. Tell Me Lies on Hulu
Who else is watching this show?? It’s based on the novel Tell Me Lies by Carola Lovering. The show takes place in 2007 so it’s a bit nostalgic to see those old cell phones.
Please note that this is not a romance show. It’s about a couple who is in an extremely toxic relationship both won’t let go of. The main guy is a narcissist, gaslighting asshole. You’ll honestly hate him from the moment he opens his mouth. The main girl is rude and has an attitude the whole time. You definitely won’t be rooting for them, but I also think it’s important we see these types of relationships on a show. Not everyone sees the signs of a toxic relationship so I hope this will help anyone who watches.
The last scene of the last episode had my jaw on the floor. The whole last episode to be honest! I honestly could not believe that happened. Such a toxic group of friends, a toxic couple, and overall a lot of drama. This show is addicting so you have been warned.
Until next time,
