Perricone MD High Potency Triple Retinol Renewal Serums Review | My Results + Discount Code

I tried the Perricone MD High Potency Triple Retinol Renewal Face and Eye Serums, and my skin is brighter and smoother than ever. My full review and thoughts with before and after pictures, plus an exclusive discount code.

I recently turned 30, so anti-aging skincare is essential to me. I’ve been incorporating more sunscreen and red light therapy, but the last product I have yet to add is retinol. Retinol helps diminish wrinkles, improve texture, and firm the skin. Retinol can cause skin irritation in some people, especially when used in high concentrations. However, the new Perricone MD High Potency Triple Retinol Renewal Face and Eye Serums are gentle on the skin, making them the perfect retinol for beginners. First, let’s take a deep dive into retinol and why it’s important to add it to your skincare routine.

What is Retinol and Why is it Important?

Retinol is a form of vitamin A that is a fat-soluble vitamin that maintains healthy skin. Retinol works by penetrating the skin and converting into retinoic acid, a stronger form of vitamin A. Retinoic acid increases skin cell turnover, reduces inflammation, and stimulates the production of new skin cells. Retinol is amazing for those who are looking to improve skin tone, texture, and reduce signs of aging.

The downside of retinol is that it can cause skin irritation in some people, especially when used in high concentrations. It’s important to start with a low concentration and gradually increase it over time. If you’re new to retinol, the Perricone MD High Potency Triple Retinol Renewal Serums are perfect to add to your skincare routine.

Key Ingredients for Both Serums

TRIPLE RETINOL BLEND: Advanced Skin Recovery

A unique, naturally-derived blend of encapsulated retinol, retinol ester, and phyto-retinol that gives you the look of collagen-rich skin and visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles. It helps speed up the process of shedding old, dead skin cells from the surface and replacing them with new, fresh skin cells. This can help achieve smoother, brighter, and more even skin tone over time.

COENZYME Q10 (CoQ10): Antioxidant Skin Renewal

This is a naturally occurring antioxidant found in every cell of the human body. It naturally fights free radical damage, boosts collagen production, and enhances skin renewal. Natural levels of CoQ10 decrease with age, so topical application can help maintain a strong skin barrier and keep your skin looking youthful.

BETA-CAROTENE: Anti-Photoaging Support

Beta-carotene is a natural form of vitamin A that helps protect your skin from damage caused by things like the sun and pollution. It can help reduce signs of aging, like redness and uneven skin texture, and make your skin look brighter and smoother. It also helps make retinol work better without causing irritation.

How to Use the High Potency Triple Retinol Renewal Serums

Application Instructions:

  1. After cleansing, gently pat the eye serum onto the eye area using your ring finger.
  2. Massage the face serum onto the face and neck using a gentle upward motion.
  3. Follow up with a moisturizer to help lock in hydration and minimize potential dryness.
  4. Use it in the morning and evening. (If used in the morning, follow with SPF.)

If you are new to retinol, start by applying for 1-2 nights per week and increase gradually as tolerated.

My Review

This was my first time trying retinol regularly, so I was nervous about how it would react to my dry, sensitive skin. I’ve only tried retinol in a sheet mask, and it broke me out, so I haven’t tried retinol again until these products.

I wasn’t sure how much or when to apply retinol, but luckily, Perricone MD includes a small pamphlet with details on what order to apply it in. I loved that they included it because it was very helpful! I also loved that a screw-on cap and a pump with a stopper are included. That makes it perfect for traveling!

As for the formulas, they’re both a lightweight gel serum that applies smoothly and absorbs quickly into the skin. They’re also fragrance-free, making them perfect for those with sensitive skin. After cleansing, I applied the eye serum, focusing on the outer area where I’m concerned about crow’s feet. For the face serum, I applied it to both my face and neck using a gentle upward motion (as recommended). I only needed two pumps of the face serum to cover both my face and neck, so a little goes a long way!

When I first tried the Perricone MD High Potency Triple Retinol Renewal Face and Eye Serums, I thought I would breakout like I had with another retinol, but luckily I didn’t! I was happy with the results after using it twice a week, so I tried using it three times a week. The third time, however, did dry out my skin, particularly on my nose, so I went back to twice a week.

Perricone MD recommends using it 1-2 nights per week and increasing gradually as tolerated. Twice a week at night is currently the sweet spot for me where my skin doesn’t start to peel. It’s important to apply moisturizer when using retinol and especially important to use sunscreen during the day because retinol can cause sensitivity to the sun.

My Before and After Results

For weeks 1 and 2, I used both serums three times a week at night. I did peel during week 2, but I understand there’s a purging phase, so I wasn’t concerned. Purging means the retinol is working to renew your skin! If you’re concerned about peeling or breakouts, I recommend trying them 1-2 nights a week first. For week 3, I only used it twice so my skin wouldn’t peel. After 3 weeks, I noticed my skin was so soft and smooth! Overall, I love the results, and I’m excited to keep using both products! Here are my before and after photos:
