Realistic “That Girl” Reset Routine

A realistic “That Girl” reset routine. How to slow down, stay inspired, and prep for a new week (without waking up at 6 am). A reset routine is perfect for when you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or burned out. Here’s what you can do to feel like “That Girl” in a realistic way to feel mentally and physically refreshed.

What is a Reset Routine?

A reset routine is a day to get everything in your life back in order. It can consist of a day full of cleaning, self-care, planning, organizing, or whatever you need to help you feel like you’re back on track with your everyday routine.

“That Girl” Reset Routine

1. Sleep In (A Little)

Use this reset day as a chance to sleep in a little and let yourself naturally wake up. No alarms, just sleep until your body wakes up. It might be an extra 10 minutes or an hour or two. Either way, letting your body tell you when it’s time to wake up lets your body fully recharge. Sunday is my go-to reset day because it’s the only day I don’t need an alarm.

2. Slow Morning Routine

Take your time when it comes to your morning routine. Instead of grabbing a bagel, make some protein pancakes or waffles. Make your favorite coffee that takes too much time during the week. Do your skincare routine, journal, or meditate for 5 minutes. Since you have a little bit more time, try adding in movement like yoga or stretching, or taking a walk.

3. Reset Your Space

A clean space equals a clear mind. Having your space tidy helps you feel less stressed, so put on a 20-minute timer and wipe down surfaces, fluff pillows, and do a load of laundry. After you’re done, light your favorite candle or spray your favorite scent as a little reward.

4. Do Something That Feeds You Mentally

Reading (even just 10 pages) of a self-help book can help keep you inspired and educated. If you want to feel like “That Girl” every day, download the Headway app and do the “Empowered Woman” 33-day challenge. It’s where you’ll read a 15-minute summary of a book every day for 33 days with key insights on how to boost happiness, confidence, wellness, relationships, and financial literacy. You can start your free trial here! Don’t feel like reading, make a moodboard or vision board of the person you want to be.

5. Errands, Outing, or Self-Care

Run errands, get a mani/pedi, go to the farmer’s market, or go to a Pilates class. Choose one outside activity so you can get some much-needed vitamin D. Try wearing a cute outfit to your activity so you’ll feel confident and happy!

6. Afternoon Downtime

When the sun is starting to set, it’s time to chill and relax. Journal about self-reflection, watch your favorite comfort show, or read a fiction book. Being “That Girl” is knowing when to rest and give yourself grace when it comes to relaxing. When you’re constantly being “productive,” you’ll burn out. So allow yourself to put on a cozy robe, light a candle, and rest.

7. Weekly Prep

Lastly, “That Girl” is always prepared. Take some time to plan your week, prep your outfits, or make a grocery list. Writing everything you need to do at the beginning of the week helps with feeling less stressed and anxious. If you’re feeling up to it, meal prep your lunches and snacks. That always helps me during the week, so I know something is already prepared for me to eat.

In the end, romanticizing your “that girl” reset routine is for you, not social media. Take the day off social media and focus solely on yourself. You already give yourself to others every other day, so take this time just for you.
