A round-up of the best products of 2019. From lifestyle, beauty to skincare, these are the products that changed my life this year.

Best of lifestyle 2019

10. Metal/Silicone Straws: This was the year of a plastic-free lifestyle, at least for people in California. Plastic bags have been banned for a while and now no more plastic straws. I now limit my plastic use to the bare minimum. It’s easy to make the switch by just buying metal/silicone straws, reusable bags and eliminating plastic in the house!

9. Hamilton Beach 1.7L Illuminated Glass Cordless Kettle: I got this as a white elephant gift last year and my mom ended up keeping it. Now everyone in my family loves it! It heats up super fast, has a blue light and is glass. Perfect for tea, hot lemon water, coffee and oatmeal!

8. Apple Ipad: I can’t live without a tablet in my life. It’s like my little assistant. I schedule my day, take notes, watch Netflix, listen to podcasts and music. I always have it on my side when I’m working. If I have too many things open on my laptop, it overheats so a second device is necessary.

7. Food Scale: This year I wanted to focus on my fitness and healthy eating habits. I also wanted to know how many calories I eat, so having a food scale was VERY necessary. I highly recommend this if you’re trying to lose/gain weight!

6. Unscented Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Dry Skin: I wrote a whole blog post about the best skincare products for dry skin and this was definitely my number one. Read more about it here!

5. Arm & Hammer Essentials Fresh Antiperspirant: I’ve been wanting to switch to an all-natural deodorant, but I heard it’s not an easy transition. I decided to start simple and just get one with no aluminum or parabens. This worked great for me and it smells so good!

4. Planner: This year I realized I cannot live without a planner. As much as I love my color-coded, alerting Google Calendar, I still need a physical planner. It’s so much easier to write things down right when I think of something! I’m super excited to get a new one for 2020. I’m such a stationary nerd!

3.  Sony Noise Cancelling Headphones: I cannot workout on the treadmill without these. It blocks out the loud sound so I can enjoy watching Youtube videos while walking/jogging. It’s a necessity in your life if you need to cancel sounds like on a plane, exercising, or just listening to music.

2. Tea Tree Oil: Wow, the MVP product of 2019. I use it as a toner, acne treatment, aromatherapy, and for cold sores! It was my go-to essential oil this year not just for the smell but also all the benefits. It’s a relaxing smell that I like to put in my diffuser when I’m working. Also, it helped get rid of my cold sores so fast!

1. How Not to Die by Michael Greger M.D.: This book literally changed my life. NO JOKE. After reading this book you will have a whole new perspective on food and health! Dr. Greger scientifically breaks down how to prevent and reverse diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, strokes and other major chronic diseases. He makes it so easy to read and follow along, all with scientific evidence. It’s a MUST READ.

10. Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette: The palette that has every color of eyeshadow I will ever need. From browns, colors, mattes and shimmers this is my all time go-to eyeshadow palette.

9. e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit: I’ve bought about six of these because a. it’s $4 and b. it’s so good! It’s the only eyebrow gel that smoothly glides on and is not too harsh. I pick this up more than my Anastasia Brow Wiz.

8. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer: BEST concealer I’ve ever tried. I have the worst under eye circles, so my concealer has to be heavy duty but also not crease; and this concealer does it all! Highly recommend.

7. Batiste Clean & Classic Original Dry Shampoo: This is the only way to make my thin hair look thick and have volume. It also takes away the oiliness, so that’s a plus lol

6. Wet & Dry Detangle Hair Brush: LIFE CHANGER. If you have long or tangled hair you need this ASAP. When I had long hair, it took me seconds to brush through all of it! Doesn’t pull or grab your hair, it just easily glides through it.

5. OGX Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum: I honestly think this was the only reason my hair grew so long. It kept my ends moisturized, shiny and smelling so good! I recommend if you’re trying to grow out your hair.

4. Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Honey & Vitamin B Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner: EWG approved, good for the environment and smells good? What more could you want in a shampoo! No sulfates, parabens and 87% natural. Can’t wait to try more from this line.

3. Revlon Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer: My favorite hair tool right now! This gives the perfect blow out with no effort. Honestly I’m obsessed! It was great when I had my long hair and great for my short hair now, too!

2. L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara: I’m such a mascara junkie, I take it very seriously! At one point I had like six mascaras I was trying and this was my favorite all year long. Volume, length and stays on all day. My definition of a perfect mascara.

1. Finishing Touch Flawless Facial Shaver: This is my #1 beauty product of 2019. I no loner have to go to the salon and get my upper lip done, I’m saving so much money! It has a light so I know where I’m shaving and it doesn’t leave my skin red. Easily shaves away the hair in seconds! Best beauty product I used this year!!

10. Rose Quartz Facial Roller: Everyone needs this in their life! I just got one this year and it makes such a difference to your face in the morning. Right after I wash my face, I roll this upwards to de-puff and tighten the skin. Put this in your fridge for an extra cooling effect!

9. Cetaphil Skin Cleanser Unscented: This gentle cleanser is the only one that doesn’t leave my skin dry and stripped of necessary oils. Leaves my skin cleansed and soft.

8. Freeman Avocado + Oatmeal Clay Mask: I’ve been using this for a couple years now and it’s still my favorite mask. After I use this I notice my skin looks brighter, tighter and softer. My go-to mask!

7. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%: My number one acne product of the year. I use this on pimples overnight and I wake up the next morning with it significantly smaller and less red.

6. Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub: My lifesaver during the colder months! This lip scrub exfoliates my lips and leaves them soft and smooth. It also tastes like bubblegum sugar so I just eat it when I’m done. It’s made with natural ingredients, I swear!

5. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel: I’ve been using this gel for a few years and it’s perfect for when my skin is oily. It’s my favorite moisturizer for the summer time! It’s not heavy and makes your skin so soft!

4. Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado: I started using an eye cream because my under eyes were so dry. Once I started using this, my concealer goes on smoother and my fine lines were less noticeable. The only eye cream I found to be moisturizing.

3. Rosehip Oil: Miracle for my skin. If you want an all-natural moisturizer this is it. It takes a while to sink into the skin, because it’s an oil, so I use this at night and wake up with smooth soft skin. You only need a little bit so this lasts forever!

2. Garnier SKINACTIVE Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Makeup Remover & Cleanser: This is great if you’re trying to ditch the makeup wipes! It’s gentle but still removes all of my makeup and cleanses it at the same time. It’s a great (almost) all-natural makeup remover!

1. Thayers Witch Hazel Alcohol Free Unscented Toner: I honestly think this is what has improved the look of my skin. My skin used to have an uneven tone and dullness to it. Now it’s bright, even and hydrated! I bought this because toner is an essential in any skincare routine, and I wanted a natural one with no alcohol. It’s the perfect toner for any skin type. Best skincare product of 2019!

    1. Ummmm can you say the cordless kettle is a lifesaver?? My husband and I have one and it’s wonderful. I am also a huge fan of Thayer’s face toner in rosewater.
      Great minds think alike!

  1. I would be at a loss without my Batiste dry shampoo… Blue hair can fade SUPER quickly if you’re washing it too often, so having a high-quality dry shampoo allows me to avoid having to dye my hair all the time lol

    1. I’ve tried so many dry shampoos and Batiste is my absolute favorite! My sister struggles with the same problem, her hair is purple, and she loves dry shampoo lol.

    1. A food scale is great if you want to see how many calories you consume in a day and portion control. It’s helped with my fitness journey for sure. Good luck with yours! (:

  2. This is an amazing list – there is not even one thing that I don’t need/want on it :). Definitely got to get my hands on that book – ‘how not to die”.

    1. That book is so necessary to read! It changed the way I eat and think of food. Highly recommend for the new year (:
